What is cozy?

If there is one thing that I have learned during the pandemic- it’s to take an afternoon nap whenever I feel like it. Rest is a luxury to be taken seriously.

A Sofa

Your whole body needs to fit comfortably on the sofa and, it needs to be wide enough and long enough for you to have some movement room. The fabric has to be soft. A few extra pillows in strategic places will make help for a great nap.

The Blanket

I never thought that a blanket was so important because, well, I never took afternoon naps. I found a beautiful woven wool blanket in Evora in Portugal. It was pre covid purchase, and I admit that I bought it more for the looks than the fee. When I first arrived in Portugal, I lived in a rental that didn’t do it for me, so I had to cover the sofas and chairs with lovely fabrics. Now that I live in a place, the blanket with my very own couch, the blanket has a very different use. It’s for naps. Not the softest, but still pretty. It looks cozy, but it doesn’t feel cozy.

What is Cozy?

Cozy means different things to all of us. When I go into my room, that is basically white…I love to see this beautifully woven white and blue wool blanket over my bed. I feel like jumping on the bed, watching a film, and drinking a good cup of tea! It makes my room look so comfy. The blanket has spent most of 2020 on the sofa arm waiting for me to take my afternoon nap. It livens up the neutral living room colors and makes me want to jump on the sofa and close my eyes.
