The International Sea Urchin Festival in Ericeira is around the corner!
Head over to the fabulous coast town, Ericeira, and get ready to try various fantastic sea urchin combinations.
The festival is 21-30th of March.
More than 20 restaurants throughout Ericeira will offer their best version of how to eat sea urchins!
The town market will chat about sea urchins while some will do cooking demos.
They are round marine animals full of quills (thin spiky things on the outside).
Sea urchins look like round porcupines with no faces.
Be attentive, and do not step on them when you go swimming!
Some people call sea urchins caviar.
The Japanese call sea urchins uni.
You can eat sea urchins raw with lemon or lime juice (my favourite way).
You can fry them or add them to seafood dishes.
