Valentine’s Day isn’t just for couples—it’s a day to celebrate love in all forms. Whether it’s friendships, self-love, or simply appreciating life, take the opportunity to enjoy the day in a way that makes you happy.
Seagull Method One of my favorite breakfast spots in Lisbon. It’s a relaxed, pet-friendly place with great food. They don’t take reservations, so go early. It is near Príncipe Real, a lively neighborhood worth exploring.
Do Beco If you prefer a cozy bakery/café away from the tourist crowds, head to Do Beco. You’ll find locals and expats enjoying their excellent sourdough and delicious eggs. Do Beco is my go-to for breakfast whenever I want to spoil myself and eat well!
Do Beco has two locations and I go to the one in Arroios, close to Saldanha and Picoas metro stations. It’s in a residential area near a small plaza, giving you a glimpse of a different side of Lisbon.
For a more refined experience with an old Lisbon feel, go for breakfast at the Four Seasons Ritz Hotel. Be sure to make a reservation in advance.
Take a walk and enjoy the views from one of Lisbon’s seven hills. If you had breakfast at Seagull Method, Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara is just a 15-minute walk away.
Explore Alfama Wander through the historic Alfama neighborhood, where you can experience old Lisbon’s charm. Visit São Jorge Castle for breathtaking views of the city and the Tejo River. Walk down its winding streets filled with cafés, boutiques, churches, and street art.
Restaurants will be busy, so make reservations in advance!
Citron A great choice if you’re in Alfama. Citron serves authentic Lebanese food in a colorful, welcoming atmosphere.
Bel Canto For a Michelin-starred experience, consider Bel Canto.
Tapisco is an excellent spot for tapas and shared plates. You must go if you are a fan of Chef Henrique Sa Pessoa!
Taberna Meia Porta A charming and intimate option for a delicious meal around the Chiado neighborhood.
Walk Along the Tejo River. Enjoy the river views on a walk to Belém (about 40 minutes), or take an Uber.
Visit a Museum in Belem. The Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC/CCB) is a favorite.
Don’t skip the botanical garden in Belem!
Take the Ferry to Almada Hop on the ferry from Cais do Sodré and explore Almada. Walk through town, stop at a café, and visit the Cristo Rei statue for a stunning view of Lisbon.
Pavilhão Chinês A vintage bar in Principe Real with a quirky interior and a pool table.
Address: R. Dom Pedro V 89, 1250-093 Lisboa, Portugal
The Midnight Espresso This spot stays open late and serves tea and scones at 1:00 AM. The drinks and atmosphere make it a special place.
Candlelight experiences: Concerts in Lisbon!
Music at the Gulbenkian Museum
Make reservations—this is one of the busiest dining nights of the year! Some restaurants have limited seating times, so check when booking.
Touta Ballouta If you didn’t try Citron for lunch, this is another fantastic Lebanese option. The chef creates amazing dishes, and you’ll feel truly taken care of here.
Fiammetta For excellent Italian food, Fiammetta is a favorite. Located in Campo de Ourique, it’s popular, so book ahead. If you enjoy cooking, visit their market downstairs for Italian specialties.
Taberna do Quelho Located near Saldanha, this family-owned restaurant serves delicious food, and the owner offers wine from his own vineyard. The locals love it, so a reservation is a must.
They do not have a website.
