A curved wall with fun cubby holes invites you to get closer and personal. Pick up a glass bowl filled with goodies and take your time to savor the sensual aroma. Put your hand inside a cubby hole and feel the textures- what is it? Place your ear near the wall and listen to poetry.
The store’s entrance sets the mood as you slow down, passing through the sensory wall and forgetting Lisbon’s street noises and traffic.
The store’s layout is bright, and the decor is soothing and welcoming.
Once inside the main room, you will see a variety of sensual and sexual products in various shapes and colors. Some objects look like toys, others look sculptural, and there are some fun things too.
The Joy Spot carefully selected all the creams, oils, and you can even find a vegan option!
The store also displays gorgeous handcrafted soft leather whips made in Ukraine and Japan.
So, there is something for everyone!
Going through difficult menopause issues? Loss of libido? Having difficulty with sex after having a baby? Feeling blah about all things sensual?
There are people at the store who are ready to chat with you (or recommend someone) about your sexual issues, questions, and curiosities in a calm, fun, and professional manner.

The store is a place to learn about eroticism, sexuality, and sensuality.
It’s not a place to have sex! Do all that later at your home or your favorite place after your sessions. 🙂

Joy Spot is not a sex toy store per se, but the toys and products are part of the menu.
It was a pleasure to find out that sex in Portugal is a natural subject and not a taboo, like it is in many countries.
I remember walking into a larger pharmacy when I first arrived and finding a section in the middle of the showroom labeled “Sexual Health.” I walked over to see what they had and found many products for a healthy and fun sexual session. They sold a variety of oils, a few vibrators, various types of rubber, and other goodies. All this in the middle of a regular family pharmacy. The products are not as creative and beautiful as those from the Joy Spot, but it was interesting to see them available.
