Pomme Eatery is all about sharing, and they also have dishes for those of you who prefer a dish to yourself. I love sharing dishes and could hardly wait to try this restaurant.
Pomme Eatery does not categorize its food, and I would call it a fusion of many cultures served in a charming bistro in a quiet street in the Principe Real neighborhood.
Dear solo travelers and solo women: You will love this restaurant because you will be well-seated and well-treated. But make a reservation!
I ordered a portion of grilled shrimp, which is something I don’t usually do because, let’s face it, shrimps have little personality; they depend on good sauces and a knowledge of how to cook them. This restaurant knows what it’s doing.
These grilled shrimps were made to eat with your hands, just like I did as a kid in Guarujá when we ate daily fresh seafood off the fishermen’s canoes.
I squeezed the charcoal lemon on my plate all over the shrimp, grabbed a shrimp with both hands and leaned over the dish to make sure the delicious oil and lemon juice did not land on my lap. I slurped and slurped! What a feast. I ate my first shrimp with the thin slices of pepper but removed it from the other ones because I like less spicy food. The shrimp were crunchy on the outside, and the meat was perfectly tender. The shrimps were fantastic. Do you know what the best part was? I loved getting my hands in all the food – it felt nostalgic.
Stir-fried carrots served with yogurt sauce and sprinkled with seeds. The carrots had an underlying Middle Eastern taste, which made this dish a little sweet and a little salty with a slight aroma of the Middle East. I could not pick up all the scents and tastes, but it was amazing.
Frankly, I could have done without the seeds because they were not crunchy enough to chew- they were like little pebbles and did not add to the taste of the excellent carrots and yogurt.
I spent a long time admiring the presentation of the octopus carpaccio and picked out pieces, trying not to destroy the design. The combination of lemon, agave sauce, and mayo kimchi was scrumptious! I shared this dish with a friend, but I could have easily eaten it all on my own- next time!
Do you like Parmesan french fries? These are super! Go ahead and enjoy them. I did.
The restaurant has an excellent wine list. Take your time choosing a good one for your exquisite meal.
The restaurant has an industrial-like look softened by wooden tables and chairs. Lots of daylight gives the restaurant a relaxing vibe, and the main colors are light, yellowish beige, and dark green.
Illustrations on the walls and menus make this place look youthful and fun.
Relax and enjoy the restaurant because it’s more about slow food and the experience. The service is excellent, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Make a reservation.
Medium prices- this is not a budget restaurant.
The music is loud. I am not the only person who said this! I have read reviews complaining about the sound, but when I was there, it didn’t seem to bother anyone else- I am very sensitive to sound, so consider that. :). Or take earplugs because the food is worth your visit. The restaurant shares its Spotify music list!

Nivà Gelataria is my favorite ice cream spot in Lisbon:
Bettina Corallo chocolate. During the summer, they make excellent chocolate ice cream and a wonderful thick hot chocolate during the winter.
