Where to sit in Lisbon

Lisbon is a city to be enjoyed at a slower pace. These are places I go to when I want to sit, rest, and take in the city for awhile.

  • Park: Jardim da Estrela
  • Cafe: Principe Real
  • Kiosk: Campo de Ourique
  • Viewpoint: Almada
  • Bench: Jardim Janelas Verdes

Jardim da Estrela

Jardim da Estrela is my favorite park in Lisbon. There different paths for exercising, kiosks, beautiful plants, flowering trees and it’s lively. Go on a weekend and get a taste of the real Lisbon life.

Café Esplanada

Café Esplanada in the Principe Real park. I love to sit under those huge trees while I have a cup of coffee.

Best Kiosk

The Kiosk in Campo de Ourique is a must for coffee, beer, snacks and pastries. You will enjoy seeing people playing lively games of cards at the tables nearby, kids running around, dogs, the pond and all that shade.

Best viewpoint of Lisbon

The best viewpoint of Lisbon is the one from the Almada near the Christ statue.

Best bench to rest in Lisbon

The best bench to sit in Lisbon is the one is the one at the Jardim das Janelas Verdes across from the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga And it has the best view of the River Tejo.

Taking time to sit and pause changes how you visit Lisbon. Plan for good sitting spots under the shade, from breakfast to dinner and Lisbon will feel very special.
