Kiss me, I’m Irish!
I’m not, really, but I hear everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. Originally observing the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, modern day celebrations of this holiday include parades, food, music, dancing, drinking and a whole lot of green.
Born in Britain, St. Patrick was kidnapped and brought to Ireland as a slave at the age of 16. He later escaped, but returned to Ireland and was credited with bringing Christianity to its people. St. Patrick’s Day has since evolved into a broader celebration of Irish Culture.
Are you wearing something green today?
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
